Biography

 

Thomas Della Bella is a film director, screenwriter and producer.  Growing up in Staten Island, New York; he was inspired by filmmakers such as Tim Burton, Stanley Kubrick and Jim Henson.  Thomas first obtained an Associates Degree in Television and Film Production from St. Johns University in Queens.  Soon after, he continued his film education and completed his Bachelors Degree in the Fine Art of Filmmaking at The New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. 
 
Thomas' final year thesis  film "Open House," a haunted house horror short received critical acclaim in the 2014 horror film festival circuit. "Open House" made it's European premiere at Cannes Film Festival in May of 2015.  The short was picked up by Shorts HD International and distributed worldwide.
 
Thomas recently wrote, directed and edited the feature version of his short film "Open House." The feature version entitled "The Remains" was produced by Diablo Entertainment, starring Todd Lowe (True Blood), Brooke Butler (All Cheerleaders Die),  Samuel Larson (Glee) and Ashley Crow (Heroes.)  "The Remains" was picked up for domestic and international distribution by Vertical Entertainment.  The film was released via theatrical and worldwide on August 5, 2016.  The film spent it's first three weeks as the number one downloaded horror film on iTunes.  The trailer can be viewed now via iTunes and the DVD is now available in retailers/REDBOX.  "The Remains" is now also hosted on STARZ and has spent the last six months under the "Most Popular" section. 
 
Thomas is currently developing many genre based projects and is always looking for talented writers and producers to collaborate with.  He currently resides in New York City.
